HSK 1 vocabulary list

HSK 1 is the beginner milestone of China’s standardized Chinese proficiency test (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi), covering 150 essential words for basic everyday communication like greetings, shopping, and family life. The test lasts approximately 40 minutes across two main sections: Listening (20 questions, 15 minutes) and Reading (20 questions, 17 minutes), with 5 minutes to transfer answers onto the sheet. Each section is scored out of 100 points, requiring a combined passing mark of 120 out of 200.
